Popping the question…

Adam took me away for a Christmas break to Brussels, Christmas is my favourite time of Year!

I didn’t think anything of it as we loved going to random City breaks. We stood under the main Grand Central Christmas tree at 8 o’clock and Adam very romantically got down on one knee and proposed.

I was very shocked and before saying yes, I asked ‘Have you asked my Dad?’ and with that he said ‘Of course!’ so I said yes!

The Barns…

We weren’t booked in to view The Barn at Upcote. We happened to drive past one day after viewing another venue which we didn’t like. We didn’t have an appointment however the team were so welcoming and invited us in to have a look around. We were sold before we even walked into the barns, the surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful, and the team couldn’t be more welcoming if they tried!

Our reason for choosing The Barn at Upcote was 100% the team, they made us feel very comfortable from the minute we arrived. This is a massive deciding factor when picking a venue.

Looking the part…

Finding the dress was a moment when I sure felt like everything was becoming a lot more real. This was when I first felt like a real bride, I never thought I would look at myself in the mirror and think “I look beautiful” but I did so I knew it was the one!

I got my dress from The Cotswold Frock Shop in Stow which I would highly recommend.

Memorable Moments…

We have never been able to explain it to anyone, you simply can’t! It’s honestly the best feeling in the world to marry someone you truly love so much.

The ceremony was one of our favourite parts of the day…we all laughed so much and just felt utter happiness.

My funniest memory of the day is Adam hysterically crying from when our guests began to leave until around 3am in the morning because he was so sad that our day was over – I found it very amusing!

Style…

We had A LOT of floral decorations, I am a huge lover of flowers.

Styletopia and The Barn at Upcote helped decorate the Barns beautifully. We went for half candelabra and half small floral decorations for on the tables. All the windows were decorated with garlands of leaves, ivy and foliage with flowers and gold lanterns. Our chairs had rustic raffia bows and tables were dressed in white linen. The barns looked perfect!

Honeymoon…

We went on our Honeymoon the following day after our wedding which I would recommend. It feels like it is still your wedding as you are both are on cloud 9! We did a 3 week honeymoon in total. First to Dubai followed by Bali.

It was absolutely incredible, the best holiday of our lives.
